Born and raised in New York City, Fred Vogel has had a diverse and dynamic musical journey:
🎤 1979 (Sweden) – Relocated to Stockholm and became the lead singer of SMISK (English: Spank). The band, featuring Mats Burman, Lars Kronlund, Joakim Stokstad, and Per Ingels, gained radio airplay before disbanding.
🎸 Early 1980s (New York City) – Co-founded the bands FANTASTIC LIFE and THE K-CLUB with multi-artist Simon Kahn and cinematographer Bob Gorelick. They performed at legendary venues like CBGB’s OMFUG, Peppermint Lounge, and Tompkins Square Park.
🎶 Mid-1980s (Sweden) – Returned to Stockholm and formed TA-DA and RUSSIANS PUMP MOSTOIL, playing primarily in the city’s art club scene.
🌍 1986 (Copenhagen, Denmark) – Settled in Copenhagen, where he later formed underground bands THE OLOF PALME GROUP and NO DADDY NO in the 1990s.
🗣️ A Multilingual Performer – Fred Vogel sings in Swedish, English, and Danish, blending linguistic influences with instrumental exploration.
🎙️ 2013-2018 (Copenhagen) – Became a recognized figure in the local singer-songwriter scene, delivering a one-man show described as Lounge Jazz Poetry—a mix of humor, storytelling, and music with a Swedish-American accent and Danish language influences.
